2pac, Nas ‘Got My Mind Made Up’ song story is revealed for the first time ever, as we learn how Escobar was on the original Death Row track. In 1994, 2pac started to have issues with Bad Boy and their protégé’s Mobb Deep after the Quad Studio Shooting.
At the time Nas was aligned with those particular parties. That lasted until the Queensbridge rapper had his own issues with Biggie and Prodigy when they had their separate falling out. On the affiliation alone, there was no way that Nas would be featured on a Death Row album at the time.
2pac, who had a relationship with the Wu-Tang Clan, went out of his way to have Method Man and Redman as the only featured artists from New York for All Eyez on Me. There was no real animosity on 2pac’s part, as he felt Nas was the real King of New York since his albums were outselling Biggie at the time.
Pac had so much love for Nas, that he was listening to Illmatic on trial and famously rapped the AZ chorus for ‘Life’s a Bitch” when walking into court. Nas would later confirm that after their meeting in New York, where Jungle almost shot Suge Knight, that he and Pac formally made peace.
The next week, when Escobar was filming Street Dreams, 2pac was set to be in the music video, as the two had a collaborative album planned.
However, the Vegas shooting of 2pac stopped all that from happening.
